Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookies

Pumpkin cheesecake cookies are thin and crispy pumpkin cookies with a cream cheese swirl on top! This pumpkin cookie recipe is the best of both worlds if you love pumpkin and cheesecake!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m all about pumpkin everything all fall long. Different kinds of pumpkin cookie recipes are one of my favorite things which is why I’m SO excited to share this pumpkin cheesecake cookie recipe! And if you like thin and crispy cookies, this pumpkin cookie recipe is perfect for you.

Every year for Thanksgiving I make a pumpkin cheesecake (the family recipe is in my cookbook linked below!). It’s delicious and definitely one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving. These pumpkin cheesecake cookies pack all the deliciousness of pumpkin cheesecake into a cookie!

There’s truly hard to find a more delicious combination than pumpkin and cream cheese. Often swirled together in breads and muffins and actual cheesecake, it’s just delicious! One day I was testing a pumpkin swirl cheesecake bread recipe and had leftover cream cheese and wondered how the cream cheese would be on top of cookie batter. That’s how this pumpkin cookie recipe was born!

pumpkin cheesecake cookie ingredients

  • whole-wheat pastry flour – 1:1 gluten free flour can be substituted for whole-wheat pastry flour
  • granulated sugar
  • light brown sugar or coconut sugar
  • pumpkin puree as always when making a pumpkin recipe, use pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling!
  • eggs
  • unsalted buttervegan butter can be used in place of regular butter
  • pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
  • salt
  • baking soda
  • baking powder
  • cream cheese
  • confectioner’s sugar

Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookies

Pumpkin cheesecake cookies are thin and crispy with a delicious cream cheese swirl on top! Beautiful and delicious, they’re perfect for you if you love pumpkin cheesecake.

Servings 16 cookies


  • For the cookies:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the cream cheese swirl:
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice


  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a bowl, set aside.
  • In a stand mixer, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Then add the egg and vanilla and mix together for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the dry ingredients into the mixer and mix until everything is well incorporated. 
  • Use a cookie scoop to portion the batter onto the baking sheet. 
  • In another bowl combine the ingredients for the cream cheese swirl and beat together until combined and fluffy.
  • Spoon a small amount of the cream cheese on top of the cookie dough. Use a toothpick to swirl it around the top fo the cookie. It’s best to do one to two swirls. The more you swirl it the messier it will look, so less of a swirl will actually turn out better! 
  • Bake for 10-11 minutes until golden brown around the edges. Let cool, and enjoy! The cookies will get harder as time goes on.
